Yankees Notes

UPDATE:
A lot better today. Ellsbury leading off, Bird third. The below lineup is the most ideal, when everyone is playing, but today was much better. And who would have guessed you’d be winning because of it! Oh yeah, I would.

UPDATE:
Clown lineup today, it’s Bird then Holliday. And Gardner doesn’t leadoff.

UPDATE:
If you don’t follow this lineup, you deserve the losing season you’re going to have without it.

UPDATE: Lineup
Ellsbury CF
Castro 2B
Sanchez C
Bird 1B
Holliday DH
Judge RF
Gregorious SS
Headley 3B
Gardner LF

Clearly Bird’s stats are too god to ignore, thus 4th. Holiday’s average will be better than Judge, thus batting him 5th.

Headley seems kind of weak for a Yankees 3B. Pretty much the bottom 2 guys could be replaced, while the top 7 are solid starters throughout the year.

Carter is the pinch hitter when you need a home run, obviously.

I would consider Torres and Wade at 3rd maybe. Headley’s stats aren’t good enough, neither are Gardner’s. At least Gardner steals bases, so Headley would be the weakest link in the lineup. #1 replacement for him would be Torres.

McKinney or Frazier would be the best replacements for Gardner. Who cares if they’re young, they’re putting up numbers.

You can also notice the above lineup is too lefty loaded at the end, so there’s another reason to replace those guys.

So if you want to take a risk…

Ellsbury CF
Castro 2B
Sanchez C
Bird 1B
Holliday DH
Judge RF
Gregorious SS
Torres 3B
McKinney/Frazier LF

Gardner would still be useful as pinch runner, but neither he nor Headley put up season numbers to be in a Yankees lineup, in my opinion.

Stats favor McKinney right now, and although I’m not a fan of righty/lefty matchups, you could platoon them, just to see who steps up on the big stage better. Whoever responds better, give them the everyday job.

More to come as I watch.

This content is currently unavailable because I don’t have any friends on the team. If hired, this would change, I know you want to Brian. (Any non-hired person would use the advice I gave, which worked, as leverage). The way I see it, without a special weapon, the Red Sox will probably keep winning the east. Mentalities can not only be optimized, they can also be de-optimized against opponents.

As a sidenote: If the Tigers don’t make the right moves, I fully support scooping J Upton next year.
